A few weeks before returning to the Octagon, Anthony Johnson got into trouble. The former UFC light heavyweight title challenger got into an ugly argument with a woman at his gym and continued to offend her on social media, which caused a very negative repercussion for the fighter.

According to reports, Johnson and the woman argued in the gym while the fighter was lifting weights and she was stretching on a nearby mat. The woman got angry with Johnson for allegedly being rude when exercising around her, which provoked an angry reaction from the light heavyweight.
Johnson himself gave his version of the episode in an irritated tone. “This is for the ugly woman at the gym, who has a body like a bag of dry food. If you get in my way or any other athlete's way again, I will throw your yoga mat across the gym again. Who in their right mind stretches next to someone who lifts weights? You need more than stretches to help that beat-up body. Did you understand? Good girl…” Johnson wrote on his personal Facebook.
Johnson was the target of several criticisms for his temper, which made him change his tone soon after. The fighter deleted the original post and wrote another, apologizing for what happened.
“I'm a man to admit when I make a mistake, and I was absolutely wrong that time. I shouldn't have been angry, but I was. I'm human. I said nasty things about a woman at my gym while I was emotional (not a good idea) and wanted to apologize to her for being rude. I apologize to everyone who witnessed my anger in an argument at the gym. I don’t want to say that I’m an angel, because I’m not, but I will admit that I made a mistake”, declared the athlete.
Johnson will face Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191 on September 5th. A year ago, the fighter was temporarily suspended from Ultimate for responding to an accusation of assault by his ex-wife, who stated that Johnson “knocked him out with punches to the face, knocking out two of his teeth”.
