Over the last few years, the Ultimate organization has gradually increased the number of events promoted on Brazilian soil. However, this trend should be reversed for 2016 and the number of Tupiniquin cards should fall. According to the director of UFC in Brazil, Giovani Decker, the measure was adopted to increase the quality of fight nights in the country.

“We should hit the nail on the head in four or five events (for next year). There will be bigger events with more attractions so that the fan really feels valued”, said Decker, in an interview with the program “Revista Combate”.
This, in fact, has been the proposal of the new leader since he assumed the highest position in the organization in Brazil. In the first half of this year, the unfeasibility of holding a high-level card on Brazilian soil was the justification given by Giovani for canceling an event scheduled for São Paulo, which ended up being transferred to Miami (USA).
To date, the UFC has held 23 events in Brazil in its history, the first of them in the distant year of 1998 and the most recent on August 1st, in Rio de Janeiro. Until the end of the year, the most famous octagon on the planet will arrive on Brazilian soil once again, on November 7th, in São Paulo (SP), with UFC Fight Night 77: Belfort x Henderson 3.
