With just over a minute on the clock for the main fight of UFC Fight Night 74, this Sunday night (23) in Saskatoon (Canada), Charles of the Bronx suffered an injury that intrigued fans and experts and ended up defeated by Max Holloway. After leaving the octagon on a stretcher and wearing a neck brace, Do Bronx took to social media and clarified that he suffered a neck injury, in addition to also promising to get back on his feet.

“I come to apologize to everyone who supported and helped me in my training for this fight. Unfortunately, my neck injury didn't allow me to show the world where I can reach. I'll come back ten times stronger, you can be sure. I'm sorry”, wrote the fighter, on his official profile on Instagram.

On the “MMA Fighting” website, the Brazilian revealed more worrying details about the injury. “I hurt my neck in training, but I had physical therapy and thought everything was fine, but when I fell against the fence everything went numb, I couldn't feel my body,” he assured.

At 25, Charles of the Bronx He has a professional record of 20 wins, five losses and one unsuccessful fight. The defeat for Max Holloway put an end to the Brazilian's streak of four consecutive victories in the featherweight division.
