Sports fans normally reserve their Sundays to watch football matches or races in the most diverse motor disciplines. However, this time, it will be MMA's turn to take over, in one of the rare opportunities in which the UFC will hold an event other than on a Saturday.

And the occasion has all the signs of not disappointing fight fans. In a card full of Brazilians, UFC Fight Night 74 brings some important fights for its weight categories, in addition to promoting the debut of the octagon in the city of Saskatoon, in central Canada.

PUBLICITY:

The main fight of the night will pit two of the featherweight division's biggest prospects face to face. Young people Charles of the Bronx, 25 years old, and Max Holloway, 23, will try to continue growing in the under-66 kg category with an eye on their dream title fight.

Combat will also represent a clash of styles. Do Bronx is considered one of the great finishers not only in his category, but in all of MMA, with seven of his eight UFC victories coming with “three taps” from his opponent. More than that: the Brazilian applies moves rarely seen in mixed martial arts combats, such as the hand triangle in guard against Hatsu Hioki and the calf lock against Eric Wisely.

PUBLICITY:

Holloway has good striking and movement, with four of his Ultimate victories coming by knockout. Among the victims on his resume are veterans Leonard Garcia, Cole Miller e Cub swanson, which made his name grow in weight.

Even though they are young, both athletes have in mind the desire to compete for the title. The Brazilian has four wins in a row, compared to six for the North American. Whoever stands out in this super duel will be one step closer to realizing their dream.

Other Brazilians want to grow

UFC Fight Night 74 will also be very important for Erick silva. The man from Espírito Santo comes, for the first time in his Ultimate career, with two victories in a row, and his objective, of course, is to increase the statistic to three.

PUBLICITY:

To do this, he had to make last-minute adaptations. This is because his original opponent for the event, American Rick Story, suffered an injury and was cut from the schedule. So, the UFC acted quickly and escalated Neil Magny to replace it.

Magny also needs to prove a point at the event. His streak of seven consecutive victories, obtained between 2014 and 2015, was brutally ended with the “ride” suffered against Demian Maia at the beginning of the month, at UFC 190. For Magny, the fight against Erick is the perfect opportunity to erase the bad result and turn things around quickly.

The other Brazilians on the show also have challenges ahead, each in their own style. Former TUF Brazil 1, Francisco Massaranduba will have the tough task of defeating the versatile Chad Laprise, undefeated in professional MMA and TUF Nations champion last year.

Elias Silvério will try to recover from the loss of his unbeaten record against the dangerous striker Shane Campbell. The Brazilian is coming off a knockout suffered by Rashid Magomedov at the end of last year, at an event held in Barueri.

Lastly, Felipe Sertanejo e Marcos Foot They are facing an unusual situation in their careers: they will have their first UFC fights on foreign territory. Sertanejo, who faces veteran Yves Jabouin, fought all seven of his UFC fights in Brazil, while the former TUF Brasil 3, opponent of Nikita Krylov, fought twice, once in São Paulo and once in Barueri.
