This Thursday (13), after several postponements, Anderson Silva was judged for being caught in drug tests before and after UFC 183 and sentenced to a one-year suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission. In light of Spider's punishment, the Ultimate organization released an official note commenting on the episode and adopted a very cautious tone, showing respect for the former champion's story and awaiting his return to the Octagon.

“According to the hearing held this Thursday by the Nevada Athletic Commission, Anderson was ordered to serve a 12-month suspension from competition, retroactive from his last fight, on January 31st. At the end of his suspension, Silva must present a negative test before his next fight after repeating the test in Nevada. The UFC organization maintains a strict, consistent policy against the use by its athletes of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing substances, stimulants or agents that conceal test results, and fully supports the Commission's efforts to ensure competition for all MMA athletes. The UFC recognizes Silva's great career and looks forward to his return to the Octagon in 2016,” says the statement released by the organization.
After the Athletic Commission's decision, Anderson Silva He went on to have a professional record of 33 wins, six losses and one unsuccessful fight. The Spider's suspension is retroactive and runs until January 31, 2016, therefore extending for the next five months.
