This Tuesday (11), lawyers for Anderson Silva presented Spider's version of the doping case in which he was involved at UFC 183 and the justification was that the fighter had consumed anxiolytics before the fight, but the presence of anabolic steroids would be the result of use of a contaminated sexual impotence medicine. The former champion's unusual defense was not forgiven by internet users and resulted in several memes on social media.
Among the main memes released is one from the “Straight Outta” series, one of the most popular at the moment in the United States, which says: 'Straight Outta Boners” (“Straight from erections”, in free translation) and one that plays with the former champion's English : “Guys, problems with ehections (sic), is it normal to take (sic) PEDs (performance enhancing drugs)”.

On February 3rd, a few days after winning Nick Diaz at UFC 183, it was announced that Anderson Silva had tested positive for the anabolic steroids drostanolone and androsterone in a surprise anti-doping test carried out on January 9th. A second examination, carried out on the 19th of the same month, did not show any trace of illegal substances. In the post-fight examination, however, Anderson tested positive again for anabolic steroids and, in addition, also for two anxiolytics, Oxazepam and Temazepam, medicines generally used to combat insomnia and sleep disorders.
Recently, it was reported that one of Spider's positive tests presented inconsistent results when analyzed by another laboratory, but the information was not commented on by the fighter, his team, Ultimate or the Commission itself.
