Since rising quickly through the featherweight division, the Irishman Conor McGregor became the biggest rival of José Aldo. However, with his controversial style, the now interim belt holder has even attracted the attention of other champions, such as the lightweight title holder Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian assured that he would love to see Conor, who has already fought in the 70,3 kg division on the European circuit, challenge him and promised an easy victory if that happens.

“I would love it if he moved up to lightweight. It would be easy money to beat this guy. I would be happy if he made it to lightweight, to welcome the division, even if it was in Ireland. It's difficult to say how the fight would go, but it would certainly be aggressive, with heavy hands and he wouldn't be able to deal with it”, said Rafael, in a chat with the press in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

In addition, Dos Anjos also gave his opinion on the title unification between Aldo and McGregor. “This guy doesn’t have the slightest chance, Aldo will destroy him. If the Chad Mendes If he was in shape, he would destroy McGregor too, he showed that. He passed by my side and is very small, he looked like a 'chicken'. O Chad Mendes He's strong, but McGregor has no chance. That fight exposed who he really is. He’s that fighter”, he analyzed.

At 30, Rafael dos Anjos has a professional record of 24 wins and seven losses. The Brazilian won the lightweight belt in March this year by beating Anthony Pettis in a unanimous decision by the judges. The new champion is expected to put his title on the line for the first time against Donald Cerrone, but the duel does not yet have a date set to take place, as Rafael is still recovering from knee surgery.
