MMAWeekly chooses Anderson Silva as best of 2007

Every end of the year is always the same thing. Who was the best fighter of the year? Who stood out? Who was the best? While the renowned website Sherdog elected Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, as the best fighter of 2007, the no less important MMAWeekly, placed the Brazilian Anderson Silva as the best of the past year.

Anderson Silva, current UFC middleweight champion, who in 2007, defended his belt against Travis Lutter at UFC-67 when he submitted him with a triangle choke, defeated Nathan Marquardt by technical knockout at UFC-73 and again defeated former division champion Rich Franklin, again by technical knockout at UFC-77.

The election on the MMAWeekly website was open to users, carried out through the radio program provided by the vehicle.
