The feud between the UFC champion Ronda Rousey and billionaire boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., who have been publicly trading barbs in recent months, have arrived in a field that the boxing star understands well: money. Responding to Ronda's jabs during the “ESPYs” award ceremony last month, Mayweather cited his salaries to provoke his rival.

“I've never seen any MMA fighter, or other boxer, earn more than US$300 million (around R$1,04 billion, at current exchange rates) in 36 minutes. When she manages to do that, then she can call me”, said Mayweather, in an obvious reference to his astronomical payment for the fight against Manny Pacquiao, at the press conference promoting his next fight, against Andre Berto.
Despite the harsh start, Mayweather also softened his tone and congratulated the blonde on winning yet another award. “A while ago I didn’t know who I was Ronda Rousey, so I'm sure she was upset. I want to say congratulations to Ronda Rousey and the UFC. You guys have done a great job and I've already won six or seven ESPYs for 'Fighter of the Year' and I really believe she deserved it. Congratulations to Ronda Rousey”, commented.
With an undefeated record of 48 victories, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is preparing to make what could be his farewell to the ring on September 12th, against Andre Berto, in Las Vegas (USA). Already Ronda Rousey, whose professional record in MMA is 12 wins and no losses, enjoys vacation after beating the Brazilian Beth Pitbull at UFC 190, held last Saturday (01) in Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
