Rodrigo Minotauro was no match for Stefan struve and suffered another defeat on the main card of UFC 190, an event held in the early hours of this Sunday (2), in Rio de Janeiro.
Despite the great support from the public present at the HSBC Arena, the Brazilian veteran ended up not meeting the great reach of Struve, the tallest active UFC athlete at 2,13 m. Minotauro tried to shorten it and take it to the ground, but, slowly and with little explosion, he was unsuccessful.
Struve kept the fight standing and undermined the Brazilian with long-range strikes. In the first round, the Dutch giant rocked Minotauro more than once with punches, and also abused kicks – both to the thigh and to the body.
Without having great resources, Minotauro tried to attack by walking from the front, but the blows he landed didn't bother Struve. Thus, the Dutchman “cooked” the fight until the end to win by unanimous decision from the judges, with a triple 30-27.
This was the third consecutive defeat for Minotauro, who had lost to Fabricio Werdum in 2013 and for Roy Nelson last year. His last victory was in October 2012, when he also beat Dave Herman in Rio de Janeiro. Struve recovered from a negative losing streak and won for the first time since 2012.

Claudia Gadelha practically guaranteed the chance to compete for the UFC women's straw belt by overcoming Jessica Aguilar in the opening of the UFC 190 main card.
The fighter from the Nova União academy dominated the actions on her feet, connecting better punches – which caused a major injury to the nose of the Mexican woman based in the United States. Furthermore, the Brazilian applied takedowns at important moments in the rounds, thus guaranteeing victory in the judges' decision.
“Dana White, give me the title fight. I’m the best strawweight in the world”, said the Brazilian shortly after the fight, also sending a message to the champion. “I want you to be ready for me, because I'm going to be here, ominously, waiting for you.”
Shortly after the fight, the UFC president took to Twitter and confirmed that Gadelha will be the next to fight for the title. “This fight will be fun,” said Dana White.

Palelei bothered Pezão in the first round, especially when he managed to take the fight to the ground and work the ground and pound. The Brazilian's reaction was quick in the second round when he connected a upper and knees to the opponent pinned to the fence. Palelei fell and Pezão only had to finish the job on the ground.
Thus, Pezão wins for the first time since February 2013, when he knocked out alistair overeem. Since then, the Brazilian had lost to Cain Velazquez, tied with Mark Hunt and suffered two defeats again, to Andrei Arlovski e Frank mir, both in Brazil.
