Experiencing a true “honeymoon” with the Brazilian fans in the first professional MMA fight in the country, Ronda Rousey made a point of even bringing her family to accompany her during UFC 190. Despite her confidence in a triumph, however, in an interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the champion's family made a request: that she not fulfill her promise to drag out the fight against Beth Pitbull just to make the opponent suffer more.

“It’s very exciting. We were very nervous, but at the same time very excited to come here together with Ronda. Everything here is beautiful and we are having so much fun. We know Ronda will win. The question is: how fast will she do it. She said she's going to drag out the fight, that she's going to make Bethe suffer, but we hope we don't have to hold our breath for so long,” said Maria Burns Ortiz, the champion's sister and author of the fighter's official biography.

Ronda's mother, AnnMaria De Mars, when repeating the request, even included the way she hopes to see the fight end: with Rousey's traditional armbar. “I think we're always very, very nervous, even though we're sure Ronda is going to win. It's really quite stressful for all of us. Regarding the result of the fight, I hope she wins quickly, with an armbar, to end my suffering soon. I don’t know, that’s just what I want now,” said the former world judo champion.
