With Aldo's surprise presence, children steal the show in a session with fans

As a warm-up for the UFC 190 weigh-in, this Friday afternoon (31), Ultimate prepared a thoughtful question and answer session with fans present at the Barra da Tijuca gym, in Rio de Janeiro. The event was attended by three Brazilians who hold UFC belts, Fabricio Werdum, Rafael dos Anjos e José Aldo.

Aldo's presence was a surprise for the fans, as the bantamweight Thomas almeida was scheduled for the event. Thus, the trio of champions were heavily harassed by the fans, especially the children who attended.

All the children asked for photos or autographs with the fighters and were answered. The trio thanked the children for their affection. "I feel happy. We have to serve as an example for you. You are the future champions, the future of Brazil, so we hope to give you a good image so that you can go further than we have,” said Aldo.

The featherweight champion was also asked to analyze the performance of Conor McGregor against Chad Mendes, a fight that determined the interim champion of the category and the Brazilian's next opponent. “I didn’t see anything extraordinary in his game. It was what I expected. If he put the fight on today, we would beat him”, analyzed the athlete, guaranteeing that he has recovered from the rib injury that took him out of UFC 189. “The rib is already fine, I'm back to training now. Now we just have to wait to book the fight”, he commented.

And, when the fight between Aldo and McGregor is scheduled, Werdum wants to guarantee his presence on the same card. “I never chose my opponent, and it’s not because I’m champion that I’m going to choose one. December and February are good dates. I want to fight in the same event as Aldo, even if it's co-main event. I want to fight, but I don't know who it will be against”, said the heavyweight champion, who made a suggestion for the UFC leadership. “They could score Arlovski x Cigano and Velasquez x Miocic. Whoever puts up the best fight deserves to fight for the title. Then I stay at home watching, eating some popcorn”, he joked.

Dos Anjos is also looking to recover physically to be able to defend his title, who is close to putting a knee injury behind him. “The knee is improving, but it’s an annoying injury. She doesn't need surgery, she needs time. I think another month of physiotherapy will improve”, said the lightweight champion.
