The war between Wanderlei Silva and the UFC gained an important chapter this week. According to the North American website “Bloody Elbow”, Ultimate took legal action against the Brazilian fighter, who recently stated that there were fights with fake results in the MMA organization.

The UFC filed the lawsuit last Tuesday (28), at the Nevada Court of Justice, the organization's headquarters and which also serves as Wanderlei's residence. The fighter would be being sued for intentional inappropriate conduct, and Wand is still under an Ultimate contract.
Over the past year, the relationship between Wanderlei Silva and the UFC went from bad to worse. It all started in May last year, when the Brazilian was removed from a card for refusing to take a surprise doping test. As a result of his actions, Wanderlei was banned for life by the Nevada Athletic Commission, the body that inspects UFC fights in Las Vegas.
The veteran athlete then announced his retirement from fighting and began a crusade against the UFC, which he accuses of treating its athletes poorly and not providing them all with appropriate remuneration. Wanderlei even joined Bellator, a rival organization to the UFC, where he would make promotional appearances, but was vetoed because he still had a contract with Ultimate.
After UFC 189, an event held in the middle of this month, Wanderlei once again fired shots at the company. The Brazilian accused the fight between Conor McGregor e Chad Mendes of having been arranged, and stated that “he could prove the existence of faked results in the UFC”.
