Last week, the dismissal of cutman (employee responsible for treating the cuts and bruises of athletes in the octagon) Jacob Stitch gave something to talk about. Stitch's dismissal came just hours after a controversial statement from him criticizing the new contract between the UFC and Reebok, and the impact that such an agreement had on his and his co-workers' salaries. Refraining from commenting on the episode until then, president Dana White finally broke his silence last weekend and spoke out against Stitch.

“He’s not coming back. The crazy thing is that we have 10 employees who work as cutman here. Lorenzo and I decided we were going to hire these professionals when we bought the UFC and Stitch needs to learn what the word friend means. Stitch and I were never friends, we were coworkers, we worked together in the boxing world and when we decided to hire these professionals, he was one of the guys I brought to the UFC. Friends are people you call, hang out with, and talk to all the time. Don House is a cutman in the UFC and we are very close, but Stitch was never my friend. He said I should have called him but I never deal with cutman, we have a department that takes care of them. We weren't friends, we aren't and he shouldn't expect a call from me. And if he was my friend, why didn't he call me? Weren't we such good friends?” said the manager, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports”.
After his dismissal by the UFC, Stitch briefly commented on the incident on social media. “The UFC left me because I talked about the deal with Reebok. Now it’s time to look for a new job,” he published. Employee of the largest MMA organization on the planet for many years, the cutman has already received proposals for other events, such as World Series of Fighting, who invited him to participate in their card next Saturday (1), which will be headlined by the fight between Rousimar Toquinho e Jake Shields
