Recently, the businessman of Chris Cyborg revealed his desire to have a catchweight fight against the UFC fighter Miesha Tate, who had already shown a desire to face the Brazilian. Tate confirmed her intentions and stated that it would be an honor to challenge Cyborg, whom she considers one of the most dominant fighters today.

The American stated that she would accept the fight if she had the opportunity because she “doesn’t shy away from challenges”. “It all started when a fan asked me if I would face Cyborg at 63 kg, because Ronda [Rousey] didn't want to. I said 'of course, I would face it'. So, the press reported it as if I had challenged Cyborg. Cris took it in stride, she knows what I meant. We are friends. It's nothing personal, but this is the kind of attitude you expect from a fighter, because it's a challenge and I would never run from one”, said Tate, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.
The athlete recognizes that she would be the underdog against the Brazilian, but also stated that it would be a unique opportunity. “It would be an incredible fight. Cris has established herself as one of the most dominant fighters, if not the most dominant. She is impressive. Being able to fight her would be a great honor. If I can be the one to defeat Goliath, why wouldn't I want the opportunity?” she declared.
Tate will return to the UFC octagon this Saturday (25), when he will face Jessica Eye in the second most important fight of the event to be held in Chicago, in the United States.
