Wand wins and Minotauro is knocked out at UFC-110

Held this Saturday, in Australia, UFC-110 thrilled the audience at the Acer Arena, in the city of Sydney. With two Brazilian athletes on the card, the Tupiniquim fans were able to celebrate the victory of Wanderlei Silva about Michael Bisping, but regretted the defeat of Rodrigo Minotauro for Cain Velazquez.

Wanderlei Silva He made his debut in the under-84 kilos category on the right foot. Despite Michael Bisping Dominating the beginning of the fight with two good takedowns, the Brazilian recovered well and gradually loosened up his game and by the end of the first round he dominated the fight, being vastly superior in striking. In the second round, Wanderlei tried to attack from the beginning, managing to use low kicks and good punches. Cornered, the Englishman looked for the takedown again, in the final moments, but Wand landed a fair guillotine, making Bisping saved by the bell. In the third round, the fight continued throughout the entire time in striking, with more forceful blows from the Brazilian athlete, who controlled the entire duel and attempted the knockout in the final seconds, where he knocked Michael down with a cross and continued the punishment in the ground and pound, but once again the bell saved Bisping.

Cain Velazquez vs. Rodrigo Minotauro

For the first time in thirteen events, Rodrigo Minotauro e Wanderlei Silva had different results in their confrontations. Facing the hard Cain Velazquez, Minotauro was unable to impose his jiu-jitsu against the American. Showing great evolution in his striking, Velasquez showed good kicks and very efficient boxing, hitting the Brazilian hard. With a right cross, Minotauro was knocked down and Cain with a hard ground and Pound forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight two minutes and twenty seconds into the fight.

Mirko Cro Cop vs. Anthony Perosh

Called up at the last minute to replace the injured Ben Rothwell, the home athlete Anthony Perosh, was not a worthy opponent for the always feared Mirko Cro Cop. In the opening round, the former Pride champion defended the Australian's desperate takedown attempts well and always punished his opponent, even knocking Perosh down. In the second round the story was no different. Mirko used ground and pound well to open a large cut on Anthony's forehead, which was bleeding profusely. In the interval between the second and third round, the doctors decided to stop the fight due to the size of the wound on Perosh's face, thus declaring the Croatian's victory.
