After stepping on the scale and making weight, the fighters stared at each other for several seconds. UFC director Joe Silva – responsible for booking fights at the event – even asked the athletes to leave the stage twice. Among the Brazilian athletes at UFC Fight Night 71, none had problems with the scale. Ildemar Marajó, Rany Yahya, Jessica Stacker and Igor Araújo passed the scale challenge without any problems. All of them will be in action on the show's preliminary card.
