The super fight between José Aldo against Conor McGregor, for the unification of the UFC featherweight belt, seems to have taken a backseat to Ultimate. After the Irish win the interim division title when knocking out Chad Mendes, last Saturday (11), the show's organization acted quickly and announced McGregor as coach of the 22nd edition of TUF, the UFC's reality show, against the veteran Urijah faber.

The announcement was made by Dana White, president of the franchise, during the finale of the 21st season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). Conor will lead a team with European athletes, while Faber will be the leader of the North American fighters.

Filming for TUF 22 will begin next Tuesday (16), where 16 lightweights (up to 70,3 kg) will duel for the dream six-figure contract with the UFC.

Fight between McGregor x Faber?

Throughout the history of TUF, it is quite common for coaches to face each other at the end of the edition. However, Dana White said that the fight between Conor McGregor x Urijah faber it shouldn't happen.
