The highly anticipated UFC 189 takes place this Saturday (11), in Las Vegas, without one of its main protagonists: José Aldo. The Brazilian, who injured his rib just 11 days before the show, left the fight in front of Conor McGregor for the featherweight belt. Even so, the fight program leaves nothing to be desired. Chad Mendes agreed to replace Aldo and faces McGregor for the interim featherweight belt.
In the second most important fight of the night, there is also a title fight. The champion Robbie Lawler defends the welterweight belt for the first time against the Canadian Rory McDonald. Brazil is also representing at UFC 189. Performing on the main card, the revelation Thomas almeida faces English veteran Bard Pickett.
