Since the duel between José Aldo e Conor McGregor at UFC 189, there was a notion that this would be one of the most profitable fights in the organization's history and that the Brazilian could receive a million-dollar payout, but, until now, it was not known exactly what these values would be. However, in an interview, Ultimate president Dana White opened up and revealed the extent of Aldo's loss due to being injured and not being able to face McGregor on July 11th.

Although Aldo's departure represented a huge loss of income for the Brazilian, that doesn't mean the same thing happened for the UFC. At least that's what Dana assured. "O José Aldo left the fight and sales were US$6,8 million (R$21,8 million). With the entry of Chad Mendes, ticket sales reached US$7,1 million (R$22,7 million) and we are adding more seats to the MGM Grand Garden. In other words, not only did the public not lose interest in the fight, they kind of started to have more interest, as crazy as that may sound”, he said.
UFC 189 takes place on Saturday, July 11th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In the main fight of the night, Conor McGregor faces Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight belt. In the co-main event of the night, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler puts his title on the line for the first time against the Canadian challenger Rory McDonald.
