One of the longest soap operas in women's MMA today involves the dream fight between Chris Cyborg e Ronda Rousey. The Brazilian, who normally fights in a higher division compared to the North American, still wants to challenge the UFC champion, but confesses that she hopes that her rival loses before then.

This is because Rousey has a fight scheduled for August 1st, at UFC 190, when she will face the Brazilian Bethe Correia in Rio de Janeiro. At a press conference in Las Vegas (USA), Cyborg stated that he is rooting for his compatriot to win. “Well, I'm Brazilian! I hope Bethe beats him up. That's what I want. She is a good fighter, she has good boxing. But it's a good fight for Ronda, in Brazil, in my city. I hope to be there to see it up close”, said the fighter.

Cyborg stated that she would not lose interest in facing Ronda if Bethe actually defeats her, as it would still represent a great moment in the history of MMA among women. “Everyone wants to see this fight, it would be very important for women’s MMA. And I want to be part of that. I had my first big fight against Gina Carano, and I'm very happy, and I want to do this one too. When my career ends, I want to be able to see that I helped in the growth of women’s MMA,” he declared.

Cyborg's next fight will be this Thursday (9), when she will defend the Invicta FC featherweight belt against Faith van Duin.
