He has been eyeing a new chance to fight for the UFC featherweight belt for some time, Frankie Edgar saw the entire recent episode involving José Aldo as an opportunity. On his Instagram account, Edgar posted a photo stating that he is literally “staring at his phone” waiting for contact from the UFC. According to Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, from the North American website “MMA Fighting”, Edgar would accept replacing Aldo against Conor McGregor at the event on July 11th if called.
