The long-awaited fight between José Aldo e Conor McGregor, at UFC 189, on July 11th, is close to being cancelled. The Brazilian suffered a broken rib during training in Rio de Janeiro and could be forced to leave the contest.

Aldo's injury, according to the Combate channel's website, occurred when one of his teammates tried to throw a round kick during training, but the blow hit the champion's ribs. According to the publication, Aldo, who even cried when he received the blow.

Aldo was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent a CT scan, which confirmed the severity of the injury. He has already started intensive treatment, but the recovery period is usually three to four weeks. However, there are only 17 days left until the event.
