In the early days of mixed martial arts, especially in Japan, it was not uncommon to follow cards that featured fights from different disciplines, such as kickboxing, jiu-jitsu and even MMA itself. Well, if it depends on the Bellator and GLORY organizations, it seems that this way of organizing events is close to returning to action. The merger would be brokered by the US cable television channel Spike TV.

According to the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the “hybrid” event will take place in September, in the city of San Jose, in the North American state of California, and would feature two structures set up within the same arena: a circular cage for the holding of MMA fights and a ring that would house the duels of kickboxing.

Still according to the publication's report, the signs, especially due to the promotional image used by the organization, indicate that the new event could revive the “Dynamite!” brand, a famous promotion of mixed MMA and kickboxing events in Japan To this day, the first edition of “Dynamite”, co-produced by PRIDE in 2002 and which was the stage for the legendary duel between Rodrigo Minotauro and Bob Sapp, has the attendance record in the history of MMA, with more than 91 thousand people attending the Saitama Super Arena.

Among the main Bellator names expected to be part of the hybrid card are:  Tito Ortiz, Phil Davis, Paul Daley and Joe Schilling.
