The Brazilian, who finished the fight in the third round, is expected to be out of action for 180 days due to several minor injuries. However, he could be cleared to fight before this period if he presents MRI scans on his left knee and thumb, as well as an x-ray on his nose.

Velasquez, despite the defeat, received a shorter suspension: 45 days without fighting and 30 without physical contact due to lacerations on his left eyelid and right eyebrow.

Another prominent fighter who received a six-month hook is Eddie Alvarez. After beating Gilbert Melendez in the second most important fight of the night, the athlete was suspended for six months, but he will also be able to fight earlier if he is cleared by an orthopedist.

As Mexico City, where the event was held, does not have an athletic commission, the UFC itself was responsible for inspecting the event and publicizing the medical suspensions.
