“Unfortunately I fractured my jaw during the fight. I had never experienced anything like this in my life in competitions. As far as my career is concerned, I'm 30 years old and I've been participating in competitions since I was 6, turning professional at 23. I have to be smart. I take risks when fighting bigger guys, but I know it's a business. There is no ego involved. In that fight, I suffered a lot of damage. Never in my life have I suffered so much damage. I have to sit down and think to see what I’m going to do next”, wrote the Canadian on his official Facebook page.

This was the first time that Makdessi was defeated without a decision or submission. In total, he has a record of 13 wins and four losses in professional MMA.
