Next Saturday (23), Chris Weidman will put the middleweight belt on the line against Vitor belfort in the co-main fight of UFC 187, but the North American continues with another Brazilian in mind: Anderson Silva. As Spider's tormentor on two occasions, Weidman wrote an article in which he spoke about the former Tupiniquim champion and showed that the fact that he was the target of doubts even after his triumphs has not yet been completely overcome.

“I wouldn’t even be excited for a third fight against Anderson Silva. After winning those two fights and also beating the Lyoto Machida To defend my belt, I need competition. And today it is clear to everyone what I have always known to be true: Anderson Silva he would never beat me”, said Weidman, in the article published in “The Player's Tribune”, a website where athletes themselves present their views on the sport in text, founded by former baseball player Derek Jeter.

But Weidman didn't stop there. The champion recalled the outcome of the second fight against Spider, in which the Brazilian ended up with a fractured leg and regretted what happened. “I didn’t want his leg to be broken. That wasn't the way I wanted the fight to end. I know there's no way Anderson Silva beat me, but it still bothers me that that fight ended like that”, he revealed.

Finally, the North American also spoke about his next challenge, facing Vitor belfort. Still showing dissatisfaction with the lack of recognition after the victories over Anderson and Lyoto, Weidman assured that he wants to give a clear message to everyone in front of the Phenomenon and show that he dominates the 84 kg division. “I want to completely dominate the Vitor belfort on Saturday. I want to give my message and let everyone know that I am far ahead of anyone else, that I dominate this weight category”, she concluded.
