Frankie Edgar dominated Urijah faber at the UFC's debut in the Philippines, last Saturday (16), and since then he has only had one goal in mind: getting the chance to fight for the featherweight belt. The American believes that the organization's president, Dana White, owes him the opportunity, given his recent record inside the octagon.

“I feel like he owes me a title shot and I think he knows that. See, when Cub [Swanson] and I fought, the UFC had promised him a title fight if he beat me. So what does this mean? If I beat him, I would get the chance, right? If you do the mathematics of MMA, then this is what it means”, commented Edgar, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
The former lightweight champion believes that he only did not receive the chance to fight for the title again due to the meteoric rise of Conor McGregor, who will fight for the belt in July. “I feel like he [White] knows I got passed over with McGregor. So, here I am. I just wrote off Urijah, so he owes me a title fight,” he stated.
Edgar was UFC lightweight champion between 2010 and 2012, when he ended up controversially losing to Ben henderson. After that, the fighter moved down to the featherweight division and challenged for the title against José Aldo, in February 2013, but was defeated in the decision. Since then, Edgar has won four consecutive victories.
