In an interview with the “Combate” channel, Belfort was asked if he had the desire to follow in the footsteps of Anderson Silva, who will try to compete in taekwondo games. The veteran was willing to try his luck in boxing. “It's a good thing, if there's a vacancy there, I'll go in. The invitation has already been accepted”, commented the fighter, who already fought in professional boxing in 2006, winning by knockout.

However, Belfort has his focus on Weidman, and guarantees that he did everything to prepare himself in the best possible way for the fight. “I've been training every day, a lot, dedicating myself as much as possible. I'm going to these fights to fight five rounds. Now how many rounds will there be, technical analysis… I believe in opportunity, in training”, he said. “I often say that it is not the best team that wins, but the team that plays best. My thought is to fight better, in all areas”, he concluded.

Belfort and Weidman will have the second most important fight at UFC 187, which will feature, as its main attraction, the duel between Anthony Johnson e Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight title.
