Ronda Rousey is arguably one of the biggest stars in the UFC today. The fighter, dominant champion of the women's bantamweight division, also has a constant presence in media that go beyond the octagon, such as Hollywood films and magazines. And one of her most notable works outside of fighting was in 2012, when she took nude photos for “ESPN” magazine.

In an interview with the North American radio “Sirius XM”, Rousey explained why she decided to take the photos without clothes at the time. “It was because of an ex-boyfriend. I caught him taking naked pictures of me. It was just before my first title fight [in Strikeforce], actually. Two weeks before I was trying to leverage my social media, to get people to pay attention. He went to work and I used his computer. Then I downloaded a photo from Facebook to post it on Twitter. Do you know when you can see recent downloads? I went there and saw a lot of asses! When I went to see, they were all photos of me”, explained the fighter.

Rousey stated that she did not expect this attitude from her ex-boyfriend, as she felt comfortable by his side and had not given her consent for the photos to be taken. “I was comfortable next to him, lying naked in bed playing games on my cell phone, brushing my teeth naked. And I thought he was on his cell phone typing messages. He had already asked me to take photos of myself and I said no. He knew I didn't like it. After I found the photos, the first thing I did was take those nude photos for 'ESPN'. If there are going to be nude photos of me out there, it will be on my terms,” she commented.

Even though she deleted the photos from the boy's computer, Ronda admits that she still fears that the photos will become public. “There may still be things on your cell phone. I don't know. These photos may appear out there one day,” she said.
