The development of the main fight of UFC Fight Night 65, last Saturday (9), was the target of criticism from many MMA fans around the world. This is because the actions took a long time to be interrupted amid the broad dominance of Stipe Miocic about Mark Hunt, as neither the fight referee nor the New Zealander's corner were willing to end the fight early.

Miocic dominated the fight practically from start to finish, and from the third round onwards, he outclassed Hunt. The fight was only stopped in the fifth round, after a harsh punishment suffered by the “Super Samoan”. In an interview after the fight, the American of Croatian descent acknowledged his superiority in the fight, but stated that he focused only on doing his job.

“I saw that I was winning and I was going to keep attacking until they stopped me or the fight was over. I did not care. Of course I wanted to end the fight, but he's a tough guy. That’s why the fight lasted as long as it did”, he noted, in a press conference shortly after the fight.

Director of UFC operations in Australia, Tom Wright admitted that the fight took a long time to be stopped. “They probably could have stopped sooner,” he said.
