TUF Brazil 4: Glaico França submits Nikolas Motta and Shogun team makes it 4-0

In the best fight on the program so far, a fighter from Santa Catarina overcomes pressure in the first round to finish in the second round

Glaico-Franca-x-NikolasGlaico Nego França from Santa Catarina is in the semi-finals of TUF Brasil 4. In the sixth episode of the series, shown in the early hours of this Monday (11), the lightweight from the Shogun team, had a great fight against Nikolas Motta, representative of the brothers' team Rodrigo Minotauro e Rogério Minotouro. But after losing the first round, he came back willing to reverse the situation and submitted his rival with a rear naked choke in the second round. The result further expanded Shogun's advantage over the Nogueira brothers to 4 × 0.

The program began with a quick retrospective of previous chapters. The consecutive victories of the Shogun team and the dejection of the athletes from the Nogueira team. Then, the fighters had to go through a challenge, which would give the winning team the right to take the right of choice from the rival team.

Four representatives from each team were strapped into an octagon-shaped frame. They were to push the frame and pick up four flags scattered across the Nevada desert. Shogun's representatives won 4-1.

Before the fight, during the weight cutting process, Glaico France fell out with Fernando Butcher. The Shogun team fighter decided to cut weight at 1:30 in the morning and woke up Fernando, who was unable to go back to sleep.

The next morning, Butcher didn't like it and the two got into a fight. Glaico even apologized, but Fernando didn't take it very well. However, in the afternoon it was the turn of the Nogueira team representative to put an end to the fight by hugging Nego.

Glaico France e Nikolas Motta they provided the best fight of TUF Brazil 4 so far. In an electrifying duel, full of alternation in control, they did not run away from the fight at any point.

Nikolas, who is shorter than his opponent, worked with strong kicks and good punches. In turn, Glaico did not hide from the exchange of blows, but looked for the best moment to take down his rival.

In the best moment of the first round, Nikolas landed a beautiful kick to França's head, which ended up bending his knee. But, with great desire, he got up quickly, stuck to Motta and worked in the clinch. The moment was applauded by the other athletes.

After a balanced first round, with a small advantage for Nikolas, Glaico didn't want to take any risks in the second round. In his first movements, he launched a straight blow to close the distance and knocked his opponent down.

On top, the Santa Catarina native made use of his judo and jiu-jitsu skills to advance in position, get to his back, lock in the rear-naked choke and end the contest.

with the victory of Glaico France he joins his teammate Nazareno Malegarie as a semifinalist in the program among the lightweights. Among the bantamweights (up to 61,2 kg.), Matheus Nicolau e Dileno Lopes, also from the Shogun team, are among the four best.

Next fight

With Glaico Nego's victory, the Mauricio Shogun continued with the right to choose the next fight. To represent their team, they called up Bruno Korea. The fighter himself was the one who chose his opponent and called on Leandro “Pitbull” Higo. The fight takes place next Sunday.
