Brazilian Goiti Yamauchi faces former champion at Bellator 139

Eyeing his third consecutive victory, the Japanese naturalized Brazilian Goiti Yamauchi will have a big challenge ahead of him in his next fight. Yamauchi was confirmed on the Bellator 139 card, which takes place on June 26 in Kansas City (USA), and will face the organization's former featherweight champion Pat Curran.

At just 22 years old, Goiti Yamauchi He has a record of 18 wins and two losses, and comes from victories over Mike Richman and Martin Stapleton. Born in Japan, but living in Brazil since he was three years old in Curitiba (PR), Yamauchi began training jiu-jitsu as a child and also practiced boxing, muay thai and wrestling before turning professional in MMA, aged just 17.

Pat Curran, 27 years old, has a record of 20 wins and seven losses. Curran was Bellator featherweight champion twice, but is currently going through the worst moment of his career, with three defeats in his last four fights and two consecutive setbacks, including a unanimous decision defeat to the Brazilian Patrick Pitbull in September last year in which he lost the belt.
