WEC-45 recently ended in Las Vegas, an event that closed the lightweight organization's season in 2009. The only Brazilian on the card, Rani Yaya started well, taking the initiative in the fight against Joseph Benavidez, but a strong cross ended up hitting the Brazilian which was a knockdown, the American took advantage of the good moment and punished Rani with ground and pound until the referee stopped it.
In the main fight of the night, Donald Cerrone and Ed Ratcliff had a very busy duel. Using his greater reach, cowboy Cerrone, despite starting the fight at a disadvantage, recovered and managed to submit Ratcliff with a rear naked choke in the third round. Check out all the results:
