It's already become a soap opera! The doping trial Anderson Silva was postponed again. After being rescheduled for the day April 21, the Nevada Athletic Commission, the entity responsible for working on the case, revealed that the definition of Spider's future will only be revealed in May. The reason for the new delay is the superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

The Commission's attorney general, Chris Eccles, revealed that the meeting on April 21st will be dedicated to discussing the boxing match between two of the biggest names in the sport. With figures involving millions and some demands to promote the duel in Las Vegas, the discussion about Mayweather and Pacquiao should occupy practically the entire meeting. In this case, Anderson's future would only be defined in mid-May, with no official date yet.

This is the second postponement of the trial of Anderson Silva. After being temporarily suspended in February, the case would be evaluated in March, but Spider's lawyers asked for additional time to study the process and better prepare the fighter's defense. With all this confusion, this Monday (06), Anderson has already shown signs that he may give up his professional career and announce his retirement.

Anderson Silva doping

On February 3rd, a few days after winning Nick Diaz at UFC 183, it was announced that Anderson Silva had tested positive for the anabolic steroids drostanolone and androsterone in a surprise anti-doping test carried out on January 9th. A second examination, carried out on the 19th of the same month, did not show any trace of illegal substances. In the post-fight examination, however, Anderson tested positive again for anabolic steroids and, in addition, also for two anxiolytics, Oxazepam and Temazepam, medicines generally used to combat insomnia and sleep disorders.
