For almost two weeks, on the UFC 189 world promotion tour, the Brazilian José Aldo was the target of all kinds of provocations and attacks from his next opponent Conor McGregor. After the troubled period of daily coexistence, the featherweight champion promised a quick victory over the Irishman and assured that he is not bothered by his rival's loudmouth style.

“He always says the fight will be over in four minutes. For me it doesn't end anyway, I'll get it first. He can say whatever, it doesn't matter. He can provoke whatever he wants, because I will always think about myself, fight for myself. I don't care about his statements. I'm focused on myself, my gym and my teammates. I know we will be firm and strong to beat him”, said the Manauara, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.

Furthermore, the champion also said that McGregor will “disappear” after the confrontation between them and classified the athletes from the Team Alpha Male team as his true rivals. “Alpha Male will stay. This is just one fight. If we win, he disappears. Alpha Male will always have athletes, they are always competing with us in our heads. I don't see how it won't happen, that's the future. They are the two best lightweight teams in the world,” he said, citing the clashes between Nova União and the North American team, which features names like Chad Mendes, Urijah faber and the rooster champion TJ Dillashaw.

José Aldo settle accounts with Conor McGregor in the octagon on July 11th, at the MGM Grand Garden, in Las Vegas (USA). The anticipated duel between the Brazilian and the Irishman for the featherweight belt will be the main fight of UFC 189, an event that features a welterweight title fight between Rory McDonald e Robbie Lawler as co-main event.
