Negotiations for the fight between Ronda Rousey e Chris Cyborg, long awaited by MMA fans around the world, played an important role in finally being concluded successfully. The Brazilian fighter signed a contract with Zuffa, the company that owns the UFC, and could soon debut in the largest MMA organization in the world.

According to information gathered by Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, from the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the contract was signed a few weeks ago. However, plans for the near future of Cyborg's career have not changed. Her next fight will take place in July, at the Invicta event, of which she is the champion, and will be in the featherweight division (up to 66 kg).

However, Zuffa will recommend that the Brazilian work with nutritionist George Lockhart to be able to move down to bantamweight (up to 61 kg), Rousey's division. When the company considers that Cyborg will be able to move down to the new category, she would become part of the UFC squad – especially because the featherweight division, in which the Brazilian competes regularly, does not exist in Ultimate.

The revelation of the signing of the contract was made by the fighter herself in a statement sent to the North American website “MMA Junkie”, whose target was Ronda Rousey. “Lorenzo [Fertitta, partner at Zuffa] hired me, and I'm going after you. But then you'll retire to make films or lose weight, just like you ran away from a fight with me among the roosters. You will never be the best until you fight the best. Show up! It takes two fighters to have a fight. Do not be afraid. The fact that you would move up in weight to face Gina [Carano] or Laila [Ali] but not to fight me is shameful. You can have 99 excuses not to fight me, but me not being in the UFC is not one,” she stated.

Ronda Rousey her next fight has already been made official by the UFC, and it will be against another Brazilian: the champion faces Bethe Correia at UFC 190, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), on August 1st.
