For a long time it was speculated whether Brock Lesnar, former UFC heavyweight champion and one of the biggest stars to ever step foot in the Octagon, would return to MMA competition. Ultimate's president, Dana White, has already expressed his desire to see the giant again in his organization several times. However, the American threw a huge bucket of cold water on the fans who dreamed of his return.

The American stated that he seriously considered returning to the UFC, but ended up giving up on the idea. “It was a very difficult decision for me. I'm at a stage in my career where it's difficult to talk about it. My legacy in the Octagon is over. For the last two and a half years I had been training to return to the octagon, but I was born to entertain. I could return to the UFC, but for what? I didn't want to leave the UFC with a losing streak, I'm competitive, but I'm officially closing the doors to MMA”, said Lesnar, in an interview with the “SportsCenter” program, on the North American broadcaster “ESPN”.

Lesnar, 37, competed in the UFC between 2008 and 2011, recording four wins and three losses. In his last two appearances, he suffered two technical knockouts, to Cain Velazquez (when he lost the belt) and alistair overeem. Since then, Lesnar has been working in WWE, where he already competed before venturing into MMA.
