The doping case involving Anderson Silva still divides opinions in the world of MMA. While some consider the Brazilian guilty, others come to the defense of the former champion, believing in his innocence. This last example is the case of Anthony Johnson, which considers that the fighter should not be blamed for doping, but his coaches should.

According to the next challenger for the light heavyweight belt, the Brazilian, caught using anabolic steroids and anxiolytics in his fight against Nick Diaz, you may have been the victim of a mistake by those around you. “In a lot of cases, I think these guys have their coaches and people they trust that say 'hey, take this.' We trust, so we take. Sometimes we don't ask what it is. We take their word for it, because they have been in our corner several times. We don't think twice. In Anderson's case, I think that's what happened. I don’t think he’s a cheater,” said Johnson, in an interview with the “FightHub” channel.
Despite believing in Anderson's innocence, Johnson did not hide his sadness over the episode. “It was disappointing, but since there are guys getting caught everywhere, it doesn’t surprise me,” he said.
The case of Anderson Silva will be judged by the Nevada Athletic Commission on April 9. If he is guilty, the Brazilian could lose the victory against Nick Diaz, receive a suspension and fine.
