Thus, Belfort puts an end to a story that has been unfolding since last year. Caught with excess testosterone in his body while practicing the now extinct TRT, the Brazilian would only receive the license to fight if he submitted to a series of demands from the Nevada Commission, which included a series of surprise anti-doping tests.
In a hearing held by the entity this Monday (23), Belfort finally received the long-awaited license. Thus, the fight at UFC 187, on May 23, is confirmed.
This won't be the only fight of the night that will put a UFC belt at stake. In the main fight of the attraction, Jon Jones defends the light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson, training partner and Belfort at the Blackzilians academy.
