This Friday (20), José Aldo came face to face for the first time with his next challenger for the UFC featherweight belt, the controversial and provocative Conor McGregor. And anyone expecting an occasion full of tension was not disappointed. At a press conference held in Rio de Janeiro (20), Aldo, normally calm and calm with his opponents, this time adopted an aggressive tone for a few moments when dealing with his rival, which drove the fans present crazy.

Right from the start, the Brazilian showed a different attitude, arriving at the scene making an obscene gesture towards McGregor, who already wanted to cause trouble. When the questions were opened to the press, Aldo was quick to fire at his opponent. “He's not everything he thinks he is. He got here [in the title fight] because of what he says. I don't think he faced a good guy to put him at risk. You can rest assured that he is just another one”, said the champion.

Asked about the face he got from McGregor in January, when the Irishman won his fight and attacked Aldo in the stands, the Brazilian said: “He was clowning around, as he always was. He's a fool. He only stayed close to the security guard because he wouldn't be able to get through. He’s f*cked with me and he’s not going to do anything,” he assured.

On Thursday night, McGregor was in a pub in the city and declared himself the “owner of Rio”. Aldo disdained the provocations: “Owner of Rio, where? He doesn't even command anything in Dublin. I've fought millions of times here and everyone knows who the king of Rio is. I laugh at the jokes he says,” he declared. “He tried to hit me in the face with a dart, standing still. But, in the fight, he can't hit something he doesn't see. We fight MMA, it's not boxing, it's not kickboxing. Dedé [Pederneiras, his coach] is the bow and I am the arrow, and I get it right”, added the champion.
