The defeat suffered by Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185, last Saturday (14), it cost Anthony Pettis more than the lightweight belt. According to his manager, the American fighter suffered a fracture in the orbital bone, close to his right eye, and will be out of action for six weeks.

Mike Roberts said that the fracture occurred in the first round, after a powerful left punch applied by the Brazilian to Pettis' face. Precisely for this reason, the American complained after the fight that he had not been able to see with his eye since then.

Last year, Pettis spent a long time on the sidelines while nursing a knee injury. Before the fight at UFC 185, Pettis stated that he had plans to have four fights in 2015 to make up for the downtime. Despite the injury, the businessman stated that “Showtime” still plans to return as soon as possible, so that, in his words, “it can show the world the real Anthony Pettis".

The defeat suffered by Dos Anjos was the third in Pettis' career, and the second in the UFC. In total, the North American has a record of 18 victories, only three of which were decided by the judges.
