In 2009, Chael Sonnen returned to the UFC and faced Demian Maia in the second fight of the UFC 95 main card, in London (England). The result was a dominant performance from the Brazilian, who took no notice of the loud-mouthed North American and submitted him with a triangle choke in just over two minutes of fighting. About a year later, Demian qualified to compete for the category title and ended up defeated by Anderson Silva, who coincidentally would have Sonnen in front of him in his next fight.
