Edilberto Crocotá wins WFE belt

The fifth edition of WFE NOGI – Win Fight & Entertainment took place yesterday at the Fiesta Bahia Hotel. Filled with renowned fighters, and with a good audience present, the event couldn't be better.

O SUPER FIGHTS was present at the scene and closely followed the exciting fights provided by the athletes.

In the super fights of the night, the disappointment was due to Edson Draggo, who injured himself alone and ended up being knocked out by Ednaldo Lula. Bruno Carioca managed to beat the Italian Michele Verginelli in the unanimous decision of the judges. In light weights, Jean Silva it was submitted by Luciano Azevedo and in the main event of the night Edilberto Crocotá managed to knock out Fabricio Monteiro and win the belt.

Edson Draggo vs. Ednaldo Lula
After suffering a motorcycle accident, Edson Draggo returned to the octagon after two years away. With a certain initial respect, no one wanted to start fighting openly. However, Draggo injured himself and ended up losing the fight 1:00 into R1.

Michele Verginelli vs. Bruno Carioca
In the international fight of the night, Bruno Carioca had the full support of the Bahian fans present at Fiesta. Imposing his takedown game, Carioca managed to dominate the first two rounds on the ground. In the third round, the Italian from the city of Rome was better at striking and managed to land good blows that shook the Brazilian. But it wasn't enough and Carioca won in a unanimous decision by the judges.

Luciano Azevedo vs. Jean Silva
In the co-main event of the night, a fight awaited by everyone and that could have happened years ago in England. Both coming from defeat, they sought open combat, and the fight was quite busy on the ground. Azevedo tried a first armbar without success, until he managed a good takedown, falling from past guard. After mounting, Azevedo managed a beautiful triangle armbar at 3:30 of R1 and ended the duel.

Fabricio Monteiro vs. Edilberto Crocotá
In the fight valid for the WFE welterweight belt, the aspiring champions started at full steam with sharp striking. Crocotá lands better blows, but Fabricio gets the takedown and mount. Landing blunt blows from the position, Fabricio left Crocotá dazed and bleeding a lot.
When trying to get out of mount, Edilberto ended up falling in a tight triangle, but he was a warrior and didn't give up.
In the second round the story reversed. Knowing his disadvantage, Crocotá went head on, and with superior boxing landed a good sequence of blows that forced referee Carlão Barreto to interrupt. Edilberto Crocotá won in round two by technical knockout, becoming the WFE NOGI champion in the under-77kg category. Check out the full results:
