If he weren't bald, UFC president Dana White would have pulled out his hair this Saturday (28). The person responsible for the scare was the light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who along with his next challenger Anthony Johnson, simulated a fight during the confrontation at the promotional press conference “Welcome to the Show” (“Welcome to the show”, in free translation), held in Los Angeles (USA).

The theater set up by Jon Jones e Anthony Johnson was based on the real fight carried out by the champion in August last year against Daniel Cormier. Just like in the notable confusion in Las Vegas, Jones simulated headbutting Johnson, who, acting as Cormier, pretended to grab his rival by the neck. All this, under the astonished gaze of Dana White, who still tried to intervene.
After the “fight”, Jones and Johnson approached each other again laughing and hugging, confirming that it was all just a big joke. Upon noticing that he had been the target of a prank by the fighters, Dana White also couldn't contain himself and burst into laughter. Finally, the opponents at UFC 187, which takes place in May, struck a new pose for the photographers, this time in a traditional manner.
In August last year, the fight between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier made the news all over the world. The athletes had a disagreement during a face-off at the MGM Grand Garden and overturned the stage set up at the casino, as well as UFC vice-president of public relations Dave Sholler, who attended the face-off in place of Dana White – who was on vacation. The episode triggered an intense rivalry between Jones and Cormier, who finally faced each other in January of this year, with the champion coming out on top.
