The Nevada Athletic Commission has confirmed the date of the first Anderson Silva to judge the doping case involving the athlete. It will be on February 17th, Tuesday of next week, at the entity's headquarters, in the city of Las Vegas (USA).

The hearing will begin at 13 pm local time, 19 pm official Brasília time. The case of Anderson Silva It will be the 38th subject to be discussed according to the agenda, which states that a “possible action” could be taken with regard to a provisional suspension of the former champion. It is not yet known whether the fighter will be personally present at the hearing.
In addition to Anderson's case, three other episodes involving doping in the UFC will be evaluated. Brazilian's opponent at UFC 183, Nick Diaz should be tried for marijuana use, as well as Ashlee Evans-Smith (caught with diuretics) and Hector Lombard (anabolic steroids).
Typically, fighters involved with doping receive temporary suspensions at their first hearings, with a definitive punishment given at a later date.
Anderson Silva was caught with the substances drostanolone and androsterone in a surprise anti-doping test carried out on January 9th. The result of the retest, that is, a second analysis of the same sample, has not yet been released. The other test carried out by the Brazilian, on January 19th, came back clean.
If found guilty, Anderson Silva will be subject to fines, suspensions and possibly the annulment of his victory at UFC 183 on January 31st.
