Jon Jones went through a true whirlwind of emotions at the beginning of 2015. In the first days of the year, the light heavyweight champion defended his belt in a tense fight, surrounded by rivalry against Daniel Cormier. A few days later, however, a bombshell involving his name came to light: Jones had been caught with cocaine in a surprise drug test carried out the previous month.

The fighter's long-time head coach, Greg Jackson showed calmness when commenting on the problems in which Jones was involved. He believes that the champion is aware of his responsibilities and that, therefore, the controversy should not be repeated. “I have no concerns about Jones. He is doing the right things to get the mistakes he made under control. I’m not worried about him”, he said, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “ESPN”. “He is definitely a very big man. I can give my advice as a friend and say 'if you're going to party, be careful not to repeat past mistakes', but I'm not going to follow you back and forth. I’m not a babysitter.”

Shortly after the controversy exploded, Jones already knew the identity of his next opponent: it will be Anthony Johnson, in combat that should be carried out in the coming months. Jackson was impressed with the challenger's intense knockout power. “Daniel Cormier he was knocking people out left and right, but as far as brute strength goes, I don't think anyone hits as hard as Johnson in the division. He's an impressive guy. Your punch, my God, that hits hard. He will be a real challenge. He is a loaded gun that can fire at any moment,” he commented.

Jones has been UFC champion since 2011 and has already made eight defenses, beating names like Vitor belfort, Lyoto Machida, Alexander Gustafson, Glover Teixeira and Cormier. Johnson is on an impressive winning streak in the UFC, defeating Rogério Minotouro, Phil Davis and the same Gustafsson.
