Despite the defeat, Cormier says he has no doubt he can defeat Jones

North American recognizes champion's superiority at UFC 182, but reports that his confidence has not been shaken

Despite having suffered his first, and so far only, defeat in his MMA career against his arch-rival Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier he is confident that he still has full capacity to defeat the UFC light heavyweight champion and win the title.

“DC”, who lost to Jones in a unanimous decision by the judges at UFC 182, on January 3, stated that the fight makes him feel even more confident in taking the belt in the event of a rematch. “Jon won that fight. But, after the fight, I didn't have any doubt in my mind that I can beat that guy. Nothing changed. If we fought again, I feel like I'll be even more confident that I can win. He didn't beat me. He won the fight”, said the American, in an interview with the “Bleacher Report” website.
