The UFC champion Ronda Rousey is one of the main stars of the special edition of “Sports Illustrated” magazine, which hits newsstands this Monday (9) in the United States. The fighter, one of the main muses in the world of MMA, is part of the team of models who posed for the photos in the edition, showing off their shapes wearing a bikini.

“The media aimed at men with women ends up getting a lot of attention from women too. 'Sports Illustrated' is not like 'Playboy' or these other magazines – it is not something fake and artificial”, explained the athlete, in an interview with the “For The Win” blog.

Ronda stated that she purposely became heavier to take the photos. “I tried to get heavier on purpose for the photos, so I ended up curvier, unlike the way I fight. I feel like I’m more attractive this way,” she said.

The “Swuimsuit” edition, released annually by “Sports Illustrated”, also features tennis player Caroline Wozniacki in 2015. In addition to them, tennis players Maria Sharapova, Maria Krilenko and pilot Danica Patrick have participated in the edition in the past.

Ronda Rousey will return to the UFC octagon later this month, when he will defend his belt against Zingano cat, in the main fight of UFC 184, in Los Angeles (USA).
