Mentors and friends of Anderson Silva, the brothers Rodrigo Minotauro e Rogério Minotouro, made a point of going public and publicizing their support for Spider, who was recently caught in an anti-doping test for the use of anabolic steroids and is now awaiting the results of the retest. The message from the Nogueira brothers was published on Minotauro's official profiles on social media.

Caught using drostanolone and androsterone in a surprise anti-doping test carried out before the victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 183, which marked his return to the Octagon after more than a year away due to a serious fracture suffered in his left leg, Anderson Silva is now awaiting the results of the test retest, carried out from a second urine sample collected on the same day as the original test – January 9th. Now, Spider, who remains in Las Vegas (USA) where he records the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4, will face the trial of his case at the Nevada Athletic Commission, scheduled for a hearing on February 17th.
